  File Bins Languish

The formerly active file bins for paper destined for paper file folders are empty, a result of the CM/ECF transition to electronic files. Now, the docketing process places documents in the electronic file, and no paper case file is needed.
Some materials are still filed in paper files, but those items are so few relative to all court filings that paper filing does not pause in these file bins.

  Training Trainers
The court has trained trainers in sessions each morning on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. These trainers will train persons in their offices, who may then register to file electronically. The trainers will be an ongoing resource to their firms. In July, pilot filings by these firms will expose the system to the first "non court user" filings, and will teach the court a great deal about interaction with outside users. In August, training will begin for trainers from firms other than the pilot firms.
Resources for these trainers (useful for anyone working with CM/ECF) are at http://www.utd.uscourts.gov/cmecf/documents/trainerscorner.html

  Training Announced
The court has announced training sessions for law firm trainers and for attorneys. Those interested in training of any kind should contact Krysta at the court at 801-524-6146 or via e-mail.

One series of training sessions is designed for in house trainers and technical support staff who will train and register attorneys in their respective firms. Any attorney trained by a court certified trainer may immediately register as an efiler and, upon receipt of the attorney login and password, begin to file electronic documents over the Internet. The sessions will be held in late June and early July.

The court has also announced training for individual attorneys (who may bring a staff member to the training session). Attorneys will learn how to docket in the ECF program and how to navigate through the program and be eligible to register as e-filers. Sessions are currently scheduled every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from August 9 through September 29, 2005.

Registration of Previously Trained Attorneys: Beginning August 1, 2005 attorneys who are already utilizing the ECF program in other districts or in the Bankruptcy Court will be allowed to register as E-Filers.
