Utah District Court
CMECF Updates
Wednesday, April 13, 2005
  Preparations Continue
Preparations continue as CM/ECF "will go live" May 2nd, less than 20 days from today. Another test conversion complete April 10th was successful.
A new feature appeared in the clerk's office recently. There are 31 numbered boxes, each corresponding to a day of the month.

Almost all documents filed on or after May 2nd will be placed in boxes, numbered by days of the month, after they are scanned and the scanned image is docketed. The scanned documents will be retained in a chronological file corresponding to the date of filing.
As of May 2nd, the official court record will be the electronic document file. Paper files will no longer be the official file. Some paper documents (described in the Administrative Procedures re: Electronic Filing) will be retained permanently, but the great majority of paper documents presented for filing will be archived in daily boxes. It is anticipated that at a future time, it may be possible to discard the chronolgical boxes of paper submissions.
