CMECF Updates
Version 2.4 Installed
The Utah CM/ECF databases were upgraded March 25th to Version 2.4.
Improvements include:
1. A header at the top of each page of pdf documents indicating the case, and date filed, in blue.
2. The ability for the Pacer users to view memorandum decisions over the internet at no charge.
3. The ability to accept fees by credit card over the internet.
Detailed Calendar; Ten Things to Know May 2nd; New Draft of Procedures
The district court has posted a detailed calendar of the anticipated transition from the current case management system to CM/ECF. Beginning with a general notice to counsel in early April, the
Going Live On CM/ECF Timeline also describes what will happen around the critical dates of April 29, 2005, when docketing stops in the old system, and May 2, 2005, when the official record of the court is electronic. Important information about PACER, courtesy copies, service of notices, and possible docketing delays is included.
The
Top Ten Things You Need To Know When The Court Goes Live On May 2, 2005 is also posted. It lists the changes which will affect practicing lawyers the most.
Also, a new
Draft Amendments to Administrative Procedures re: Electronic Filing is posted. These are probably the near-final form.
Utah is now 45 days from CM/ECF Go Live Date. Attorney e-filing is anticipated to begin June or July 2005.
Test Attorney Filing Nearly Complete; Automated Help Sytem Installed
After about 40 test filings by attorneys outside the courthouse,
test filing is drawing to a close. The feedback from attorneys has helped refine the draft administrative procedures which will be updated in the first half of March. Test filing will likely end in March.
The court has installed its
automated help system, with a database of answers available on a 24x7 basis. The searchable database will be expanded as questions come in and answers are developed. Go to
